"... towards the end of march the 21st in the year 19__. We bedded down in our gear for the evening and awoke to the sound of moving waters and a presence we knew not how to explain. Dear Sir R.M., with awe, caused me to move my eyes to the waters, whereupon I caught a visage of legend and awe. It sat there in the water motionless grazing upon some form of water weed...uncaring of our presence.
I knew not what to make of it. Dear Sir M. grabbed his pen and paper and set work upon his documentation. I had no words, it's vast mottled head bearing some resemblance to the Equine species, my feet planted firmly... my tongue locked to the roof of my mouth..."
